Après Ski in Méribel

Méribel has a fantastic reputation for it's Après Ski with plenty to offer many tastes. For those looking for a vibrant nightlife there are numerous bars and nightclubs to choose from. Méribel also has on offer quieter, more tranquil traditional bars and restaurants.

From a party night to a quiet apres ski drink or a quality meal, we've selected our favourite places to go (below) and have divided them into two sections: bars and restaurants. Enjoy!

The Lodge Du Village

The Lodge du Village holds a soft spot in many regular Meribel visitors heart as the place to be for Apres-ski, and if you are staying in Meribel Village, it is ultimate in convenience, nestled at the bottom of the Lapin Piste by the Golf Chairlift. The authentic Italian restaurant serves a range of Pizzas, pastas and salads. Upstairs is the lounge area that serves bar food with drinks promos running throughout the week. As the clock strikes 4pm and the music starts; bands from Bring Your Sisters to the more relaxing acoustic sets can be the perfect way to end the day on the slopes.

Dicks Tea Bar has become an iconic name in the French Alps having been established over 30 years ago – a place where countless generations of winter holiday-makers have come to let their hair down after a day on the slopes. From winter season 2010/2011, Dicks Alpine Bars Ltd, has been under new ownership. The group’s venues, Dicks Val D'Isere & Meribel and The Den Bar & Kitchen, Meribel have undergone some major renovations and general upgrades. The most notable change is the introduction of ‘The Den Bar and Kitchen’ in Meribel which replaces Pizza Express. In Meribel, the introduction of The Den means guests can come earlier than before and enjoy some drinks, grab some food and listen to live music before heading downstairs for dancing in the famous Dicks nightclub. With the 2 venues being inter-connected, entry to the nightclub is free if coming from The Den. The various changes make for an exciting season ahead, we look forward to welcoming you this coming winter!!

La Taverne bar is located right in the heart of Meribel’s town centre and is the most popular haunt for holidaymakers and seasonnaires alike! With its friendly staff and drinks promotions - such as 15 Euros for a 2.3L jug of beer, 2 Euro wine and ‘6 for 15 Euros’ Jagerbombs - it’s easy to understand why people keep going back! If you’re feeling a bit peckish then the bar have an excellent snack menu including the famous 10 Euro ‘Burger and Pint’ deal and they serve food throughout the day from 8:30am-10pm. They also have live music and themed nights throughout the week to keep everyone entertained. The a la carte restaurant downstairs is open in the evenings from 6:30pm. Dishes vary from steak and whole duck breasts to the more traditional Savoyard favourites like fondue and raclette. There is also a great selection of vegetarian options and wines, both Local and New World.

Le Pub in Meribel is a prime example of, ‘it does exactly what it says on the tin’. Everything that you want from a pub, it provides. Your standard winter resort selection of lagers (Amstel) and an eclectic drinks menu, including cocktails. During the day this centrally based pub plays sport and provides après-ski entertainment with music into the early hours, ranging from your classic cover bands, to dance music, and special events when supporting events such as the Meribel Little World Festival. It’s location lends it to providing quieter après –ski fun, but lively nighttimes, with Scotts just below offering good standard ‘pub grub’, and acoustic open-mic sessions, and drinks promos throughout the week.

Voted one of the top 10 après ski bar’s in the world, the “Ronny” is the no 1 place to dance your socks off on the slopes in Meribel. Situated on the piste, just below the Rhodos gondola, there is a large sun terrace perfect to catch the late afternoon sun before hitting the dance floor. It has a 4-5pm happy hour, live bands (The Feeling started out here as Superfly), toffee vodka and a fantastic atmosphere. By 6pm on a good night, you could be crowd surfing. Head for the Ronny at the end of a hard day’s skiing and experience it for yourself...

Jacks Bar

Jacks Bar is a lively bar in the heart of the town centre, an easy walk from La Chaudanne lift area. The bar offers great drinks promotions throughout the week, including ‘Toss the Boss’ –an opportunity to get your round for free! The bar itself hosts live music for après, comedy nights and other resort events. Serving excellent pizzas and having a free pool table this bar always proves to be a favourite with seasonnaires and holiday makers alike. With happy hour often coinciding with live music at après ski time this bar is often busy so get down there early!

Situated bang in the heart of town Barometer is well placed offers a more relaxed atmosphere than some of the other options in town. Serving good coffee during the day (free Wi-Fi by the way), offering an excellent wine list and serving the treacherous Mutzig this bar has something to offer all. With the pool tables tucked away they don't take over the bar and with the screens showing ski/board movies this offers a more subdued atmosphere.
