Méribel is a very popular resort in the French Alps. It’s quite a big resort, so as you’d expect there’s a great range of resort services to take advantage of during your stay.

Ski schools

Whether it’s your first time on skis or you’re a proficient boarder looking to try off-piste, there’s a super selection of ski schools in Méribel. On our ski school tab, we’ve put together a list of some of the facilities in Méribel, all of which offer English-speaking instructors.

Ski school is suitable for kids as young as 4 or 5, depending on the child. The various ski schools in Méribel offer a huge range of lessons from taster sessions to freestyle and off-piste. Take a look at their websites to get an idea of what they offer.

Child care

If your kids are too young for ski school and you want to get some time in on the mountain, you might be looking at child care options. Being such a large and popular resort, Méribel has a great range of childcare including private nannies and babysitting services.

If you’re staying in a chalet, a fully qualified nanny can come to look after the little ones in your party at your accommodation. They’ll provide a full day of activities such as playing in the snow, trips to the pool, crafts and music.

Visit the child care tab to learn more.

Lift passes

When skiing or boarding in Méribel you have a choice of buying either an area or local lift pass. The 3 Vallées pass gives you access to the largest ski area in the world with over 600km of pistes. The lift passes tab gives you an idea of prices.

The slopes are easily accessible from the fast lifts and they’re suitable for all abilities. However, if you’re a newbie skier or boarder it might be best to wait until you get to the resort to buy your lift pass as you’ll probably spend the first few days on the learner slopes where the lifts are free to use.

If you’re booking a package holiday with us, many tour operators offer some great deals, especially at the start and end of the season; 2 for 1 offers are regularly available.

Equipment Hire

If you’re not taking your own skis or snowboard with you to Méribel, there are plenty of equipment hire shops to choose from. Renting your skis actually gives you a great opportunity to try the newest products and switch between different types of skis during your holiday.

Don’t have your own boots? No problem. Equipment hire shops also rent out ski and boarding boots. A good boot fitting is an important part of the hire process so make sure you find somewhere that knows about feet!

You can pre-book your equipment hire to beat the rush but it’s not necessary. Many equipment rental shops also provide ski storage, which is ideal if you want to avoid a long walk in ski boots while carrying your skis.
